Our baby girl is growing up too fast. She knows where her eyes are nose are...and can say them. She says dog (dog dog)....it's just going too fast!

I am working an extra day tomorrow so I'm sure Emmy will get to do a lot of fun stuff outside with Grammy.  I feel SO lucky to be able to work only 2 days a week.

Big Weekend

Last weekend Emily got to stay in a hotel for the first time, go to the Georgia Aquarium, and go to see her Grandparents in North Georgia.  We had quite a big time!

Of course we had to try out the microbrewery across the street from the hotel.

The whale shark.  There were 2 of them and they were huge! (I know you can't really see them, sorry)

Once we got to Calhoun, of course Emily had to have control of the remote.

And baking cookies with her Grandma.  We had such a sweet weekend!

On another note, I have been on the hunt for a new camera so that I can take professional looking  pictures that have the blurry background.  But ta da....I can do it with my camera.  Exhibits A and B, Bernice was my test subject.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the fall festival at Woodside today and had minimal success with photos.  It was teeny and the sun was not at a good angle for our photo shoot =) but on the upside, the outfit was CUTE and we got to see more puppies!!

The Zoo

We took our first trip to the zoo in Columbia yesterday and it was a great success!  The weather was perfect and Emmy really enjoyed looking at all of the animals.

We started with the little monkeys...see him behind us?

 Then I thought it would be a great idea for a photo with this bronze monkey so I plopped her up there, and she was terrified!  So this is as close as we got.

 We saw the lion eating his breakfast.

 The big monkeys were going crazy! She loved watching them swing around a holler at each other.

 The penguins were fun but the wild kids were a little much =)

 And the giraffe was "right there"!!

 And we had to make one last visit to the big monkeys before we left. 

 Then when went to go meet Grandma Pat for lunch and a little shopping...

 and got a new hairbow.

It was a great day and got us excited about the aquarium this week!

When Mommy's at Work....

We've already seen what Daddy does with Emmy while Mommy is at work. Remember this?

What we haven't talked about is what Grammie and Emmy do while Mommy is at work. It has to do with this...

Officially Walking

Emily has been taking steps for a while and started taking a few more on Sunday....but then, today.....our baby is WALKING!!

New Obsession

Through my constant stalking of strangers blogs, I have been introduced to a line of clothing for little girls called "Matilda Jane." OMG!! That stuff is SO cute!!! So on the hunt I went. I searched ebay, message boards, and facebook for a week (literally) before I found the perfect items for Emmy...

 This outfit is just too cute!!!

And hopefully I can layer this up with a long sleeve t-shirt and the leggings from the other outfit.  We will see if it matches.  From what I've read, these clothes work on the girls for a long time because of the loose fit and the flexibility of mixing/matching.   Whatever they have going on, it must be special.  There are tons of fanatics out there.  They even have their own lingo.

On another note, Emmy is really starting to walk today.  She will take 8 or so steps all on her own without us having to bait her into it.  Growing too fast!

Busy Week

Emily had her first picnic this week.  We took her to Riverview Park and walked for what seemed like 15 miles.  Good grief!  She had fun though.

Then finally on Sunday, Emily finally decided to unwrap one of her duplicate presents from her party.

Friday, we took our big one year old baby girl to see her Great-Grandma Pat and Great-Grandaddy Emory in Columbia.  Grandma Pat gave Emmy a precious teapot and some gorgeous outfits.  (Thank you!)

On Saturday, Uncle Krish came to visit and Daddy and Uncle Krish went to the USC/Alabama game.  So the girls went to Touch a Horse.  Emmy got to ride a cuite pie little horse and pet some cutie pie little puppies.  

She is getting to be such a big girl! Everyday she has new words that she uses.  She will pick up her toy cell phone and say "hello."  She had been calling James "Da" but this morning she busted out the "da-da."  "Baby" is also a favorite.  

At her one year doctor visit this week, the Dr said that if she stays on her growth curve she will gain 5lbs this year and grow 5 inches!  We are going to have a tall skinny baby!  But of course she will always be just perfect to me =)
