The Aiken Junior Woman's Club will host a Ladies Night Out Auction on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Aiken County Historical Museum.
The Sassy, Happy, Outrageous Party, or SHOP, auction proceeds will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken and will consist of a silent auction, vendors, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
Each year, the women's club chooses a charity to raise funds for, said Publicity Chairperson Chrissa Matthews. Last year, the club held a similar event that raised more than $5,000 to benefit The Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons, a local organization geared toward helping abused women, men, children and teens.
Local vendors who will donate a percentage of their earnings for the evening include Tea Garden Gifts, Three Monkeys, Palmetto Cuties Children's Apparel, 31 Gifts, Stella & Dot and French Crystal jewelry.
Matthews also noted that although the event promotes a ladies night out, men are welcome, too.
"We have a whole (vendor) section for the men, and we also have children's gifts and apparel," she said.
Some of the items that will be auctioned at the event are a Pandora bracelet from Floyd & Green, a gift basket from Power Cuts, Golf Outings (for the men), summer children's camps, a weekend at a villa in Hilton Head, jewelry, monogrammed gifts and children's items.
The event is affordable and serves as a nice, fun ladies night out, said Matthews.
"It's just a nice holiday party and a great time to do Christmas shopping," she said.
Tickets are $25 at the door and can also be pre-purchased by calling Mary Helen Simons, clinical coordinator at the Child Advocacy Center, at 292-8729.
