Christmas is Over!

James' parents and sister came last weekend to celebrate Christmas and his birthday.  It was an eventful weekend.  Poor Emmy is going to think that Christmas is a month long celebration!  We had a great time, did some good eating, and opened presents!

Emmy loved her new Dora and her Dressy Bessie doll.  It is so cute when she says bessss-e.

We got John a Fushigi ball.  Thank goodness it came with a DVD.

We will talk about her gift later ;)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

This Wednesday, I am loving one of the best people that I've met in a long time.  We had some new neighbors move in over the summer and haven't gone more than a couple of days without hanging out with them since.  They are some of the best people that I have ever met.  Without putting too much of their personal info out there, she just found out yesterday that her Mom has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Her parents, are also some of THE nicest people ever.  Please keep their family in your prayers!

How We Roll

Sometimes our day has a little "don't eat the crayon" in it.

But our days ALWAYS has crazy hair in it.

Today, crazy hair got it's first dose of ponytail.
And it's lasted longer than the usual hairbow.

"Really Mom?"
"You KNOW Yo Gabba Gabba is on right now."
"So please move on."
"K? thanks!"

P.S.  We cleaned out Target's 90% off toys today.  $160 worth of toys for $40.  Hope we get invited to lots of birthday parties this year!

WILW

Today I am loving that Emilys vocabulary is growing everyday!  I'm sure I won't be able to remember them all but I'm going to attempt to make a list throughout the day...Some of them include:  read (like asking you to read a book), write (wanting to write), Boots and Dora, Elmo, apple, blocks, Ma ma, Da da, Papaw, baby, hot, Alex, oops, uh oh, ball, backpack, cookie, peice (for passy).

I am loving that Emily knows a few animal sounds now (owl, cow, horse, cat, and dog).  Probably at least one more I'm missing.  Mom got her a wooden puzzle that she puts the animals in the right spots.  She knows what they all are when you tell her "Where's the fish?", "Where's the horse?...

I am loving that I just got a ton of books on Amazon for Emily.  I am a sucker for free shipping.  $25 for free supersaver shipping.  So I had to get to at least that and then I got a little carried away.

Snow Day

Before the snow pictures....I have to tell a story.  Last night I had this sweet thing in the bath tub and she was playing SO sweet.
Then...I hear the tub jets turn on and water was spraying everywhere!  Not just a little spray...it was a soak-the-wall, all-my-clothes-while-holding-a-screaming-baby-who-is-terrified drenching.  Because you know what happens when you turn on jacuzzi jets and the water is only half way covering them up.  The light switch was even wet.

Then, this is what happened over night.  So pretty!  But very dangerous.  I hiked the hill and made it to work.  Had to use a hamburger flipper to clean the windshield though.
This was the view from our drive thru.  Notice, no tire tracks.
So we closed early and I trekked back down the solid frozen hill.
This is a view of the grill for comparison.
So, back home safe and James and the baby had a fun day singing. =) Hope you made it home safely if you had to go anywhere!

Preparations for Blizzard 0 11

Where we live, it doesn't snow.  Now, the weatherman is prediciting snow for the THIRD time since Emily has been born.
This was the first time...

What's up?  Yes it's pretty, but really?  I'm thinking we would be okay without it.  The local newspapers had 3 stories on the front page comparing this storm to a horrible ice storm we had a few years ago.
{stolen from their website}

The trees took out power lines and some folks were without power for up to 5 days.  Booooooo!  Well in preparations, I went to Kroger and actually made it out with milk and bread. (and lots of baby supplies).  Hopefully we won't need any of it!  Keep your fingers crossed for us!
