Busy Weekend

James worked some overtime this weekend and I helped with a baby shower.

I made Oreo balls that looked like ice cream cones. It was a hungry caterpillar theme.

Emmy approved! :)

I also made this diaper cake and...

This snazzy balloon caterpillar. It was a great success. Baby Gemma was very showered :). When I got home Grammy had combed Caitlyn's hair on the wrong side...

That hair is something else. And this morning I made this casserole (another pinterest find).

It was delish. Then we decided..hey let's go to the zoo!

Can you find Emmy?

There she is!

It's hard to see but this has to be the biggest turtle ever. It looked fake. And it really enjoyed this Asian person petting it's neck. It literally could have eaten their arm!

Here's a closer view.

Then we sat down and ate as a family of four for the first time ever outside of our house.

Success!

That hair again

"who's movin this walker!"

"oh that's me. I SO sweet!!!"

Great Weekend :)

Preliminary Playroom Post

We still have some furniture to get rid of and some spreading out to do so this is a work in progress.

Art corner

Supply area

Light panel/jungle area
Now I need to run clean chalk from all these areas!

Can you see the toddler?

Caitlyns third physical therapy

Caitlyn got a good report at her appointment. She is getting much stronger and her muscles aren't as tight. This is her favorite toy there....

She usually lasts about 20 minutes in the mat stretching and checking things out.

Then the last 10 minutes are spent looking in the mirror and at toys on that side of the room. She is getting much more used to Mrs. Barbie and just more comfortable there.

Three down...21 more to go!

Then when we got out to the car we were immobilized. Again. James and Emmy had to come get us. Then we took the other key back over to try again...no dice. So now James is meeting the tow truck guy over there. Poor Volvo! Her days may be numbered :(

Time is flying!!

This post has tons of photos...fair warning.

Caitlyn had her second physical therapy appointment and the PT told me that she was looking to her right a lot more, so that was good. Caitlyn was also laying on the mat and her neck was perfectly in midline...so that was good too. It's starting to not be so obvious when she's just hanging out but I know we still have a lot of work to do. We have another appointment tomorrow so we will get another report.

Our buddies from pharmacy school came in over the weekend and the boys had a good time.

Jeff went with us to see Elton John in Augusta Tuesday night. He was SO good and it was SO much fun!

Then Emmy and I worked on some crafts.

I hope this isn't the week Mia decides to look at the blog but here is the diaper cake for her shower.

We have also had some time outside since it has been super nice!

Wait first my redneck baby. I never know what I'm going to find when I come back out from putting the baby down. Could be this or...

This. Silly thing. And no I don't make her wear clothes. Okay back to outside.

Caitlyn sitting in the stroller like a big girl!

Casualty! (just kidding we staged it). We have also been working on the playroom a lot. Mom and Dad had to take Brian to a fro the airport so they went to ikea for me. It looks like a preschool in there. We have a couple more things to do and then I am going to do a post on it.

Here is Emily sorting things on her light panel.

There are so many opportunities for learning with these things!

She is so sweet!

Caitlyn is even reading already :)

And last but not least, this is what happened while I was feeding the baby this afternoon. She came running in, climbed right up and zonked out for three hours. Tonight she came to tell me goodnight and give me a kiss and as she was walking away she said "love you honey." :)

Weeks(s) in Review

Caitlyn started physical therapy this week for a condition called "torticollis".  Don't google it.  It's way scary to look at the worse case scenarios.  Basically it's a tight muscle in her neck on one side that causes her to tilt a little. We have weekly appointments and at home exercises and are going to have her straightened up in no time :)
The therapist said that a lot of times with babies with right torticollis it's hard for them to use their right arm to reach for things. But this gorilla knows otherwise!  They also encourage more tummy time.  But that has just led to a roly-poly baby.  We are trying though!
 "Grammy loves Emmy!"
 hairbow!
 Pink toenails like LuLu's!
ohmyword look how big she is!

Its been so pretty we got to play outside!

And Caitlyn got to try sweet potatoes.  They grew on her :)

Love Love!
