Thank you mother nature!

I would like to personally thank mother nature for following up snow with 70 degree weather in the same week.  Today has been awesome weather!  We got to play outside and it was SO nice!  We took the barbie jeep over to Mom and Dad's...
She can push the pedal down by herself now.  Steering, not so much.

Mom bought this contraption at a yard sale for 20 bucks.  I wasn't sure how Emmy would feel about it, but after they got moving she LOVED it!
When Mom would stop Emmy would start fussing.

Now I have to do some cleaning for a little get together tonight.  We had our second-to-last Christmas last night with my Grandparents and it left a little mess. :)

Happy New Year!

Day in the Park

Today, my brother went with us to the park.  And while he refused to be in photographs, we still had a great time.  Emmy loves to be outside.

WILW

Time for this week's installment of What I'm Loving Wednesday...
I am loving hanging out with my sweet girl in my nearly de-Christmas'd house.  Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas decorations, but I'm ready to get rid of some of the clutter.  Especially now since we have truly been overrun with toys.  Emmy was my little helper.
 "Peek-a-boo"

 "I see you!"
I fully expect to be finding Christmas stuff around the house for quite some time.

I am loving this little dirty face.

I am loving that she ate one and a half whole chicken nuggets for lunch.  Why won't my child eat?
And I am loving these flowers that my sweet hubby got me.  Love him!
Just one more...
Hope everyone is having an excellent Wednesday!   We have a date at the park with my brother tomorrow so maybe we will have some photos!

White Almost Christmas

It snowed in South Carolina for the second time in a year.  Emily has been very lucky to have seen snow twice in her life so far.  Here is a pic from the first time...
{Valentine's Day 2009}
There was much more snow!

This time, it rained a lot before it started snowing so it was a very pretty, but nasty mess.
Emily did not get to touch it.
This was as close as she got.
She did get to feel some on her face when we were on the way to Grammy's house.  And there is actually still some on the ground today.

I also want to share some of my favorite Christmas gifts from my Mom....
She got me this book that you put your recipe cards in.  I have been wanting one and it is perfect (and almost full already).  She also got me two books...
Love them!

You can see most of James and Emily's favorite gifts on the Christmas post.  Emily is still loving her Dora microphone and of course backpack. =)

Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Emily had a much bigger reaction to everything that we originally thought she would.  She was so excited!
{warning: picture overload}

 She said, "backpack?"

Christmas Eve Eve

My parents and brother are on their way over for taco soup nite, so this will have to be quick but I wanted to show off some new pictures of my sweet sugar pie.

At the Juniors auction we had pink "fluff" on our name tag so people would know who to ask questions...
it doubles as a hairbow.

And how sweet is this outfit?  She wore it at our big family dinner last weekend, but I didn't take my camera.  So here is round two.

And to catch up on whats been going on in our house, this toy may look harmless enough,
but if you look closely...
you will see...
the pacifier is hiding inside.  This is also where we found Grammie's cell phone battery.  Crafty.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas!

Getting Close to Christmas!

All of the presents are bought and under the tree, so we can check that off of our list.

Brian is coming home tomorrow....so excited!  Emmy has learned lots of new tricks to show him.

And Sunday is our Dantzler family Christmas in Walterboro.  I am making pumpkin roll to take with.  Here is the recipe.  It usually turns out soooo good.  Hopefully it will this time too.  That's also a perfect opportunity for Emily to wear one of her Christmas outfits.  This is one of my favorites, but I'm thinking a little more dressy.  She's already outgrown one of her other Christmas outifts. =(

And since all of my bloggy and facebook friends are always posting what they are making for dinner, here's my turn: tonight we are having chopped pork from Carolina BBQ with mashed potatos and corn.  Nothing fancy but oh so delicious.

On Tonights Agenda

Junior Woman's Club auction will benefit the Child Advocacy Center | Aiken Standard | Aiken, SC

By ASHLEEY WILLIAMSON
Staff writer

The Aiken Junior Woman's Club will host a Ladies Night Out Auction on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Aiken County Historical Museum.

The Sassy, Happy, Outrageous Party, or SHOP, auction proceeds will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken and will consist of a silent auction, vendors, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Local vendors who will donate a percentage of their earnings for the evening include Tea Garden Gifts, Three Monkeys, Palmetto Cuties Children's Apparel, 31 Gifts, Stella & Dot and French Crystal jewelry.

Matthews also noted that although the event promotes a ladies night out, men are welcome, too.

"We have a whole (vendor) section for the men, and we also have children's gifts and apparel," she said.

Some of the items that will be auctioned at the event are a Pandora bracelet from Floyd & Green, a gift basket from Power Cuts, Golf Outings (for the men), summer children's camps, a weekend at a villa in Hilton Head, jewelry, monogrammed gifts and children's items.

The event is affordable and serves as a nice, fun ladies night out, said Matthews.

"It's just a nice holiday party and a great time to do Christmas shopping," she said.

Tickets are $25 at the door and can also be pre-purchased by calling Mary Helen Simons, clinical coordinator at the Child Advocacy Center, at 292-8729.

Hope to see you there!
